The Fan Series offer plenty of opportunity for surface decoration. Each "vase" is wheelthrown with "fan" like slabs attached.

As I play with the different surface planes, interesting patterns occur.

I am using hand-painting and stenciling techniques to achieve my patterns. Custom engobes are used to create my patterns. The engobes are all color with a minimum of surface gloss. High gloss glaze is used for the interior of the vase.

These fans all vary in size, minimum height is 18" with spans approximately 15"-20".
